Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The land belonging to the predecessor of the petitioners was acquired by the NHAI. The petitioner applied for compensation for the acquisition. Hearing took place on three occasions. The petitioner was asked to submit certain documents.

They submitted those documents.

In spite of this, the concerned authorities took no steps.

Accordingly, a representation dated 24.05.2024 was made by the petitioners before the concerned the Special Land

Acquisition Officer, Cooch Behar. Yet, there has been no response in respect of the same.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that the appropriate authority would consider the representation in accordance with law. The NHAI is also represented.

It appears that a representation of the petitioners dated 24.05.2024 is pending consideration.

In view of the above, let the respondent no.2 consider the petitioners'

representation in accordance with law and at the earliest, preferably within four weeks from the date of communication of this order. Within a week thereafter, the authority shall communicate its decision to the petitioner. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
