Heard learned advocates appearing for the respective parties.
By these writ petitions petitioners have sought relief of direction upon the respondents/ authorities concerned to disburse the interest amount towards gratuity and arrears pension amount in question from the date of death of the pensioners or date of retirement of the pensioners till the date of actual date of payment/disbursement along with interest to the petitioners. Petitioners submit that the issues
involved in these writ petitions are directly covered by the decision of this Court in the case of Januki Rai & Anr. -vs- The State of West Bengal & Ors. in WPA 2500 of 2022.
Considering the submission of the parties, these writ petitions being WPA 1848 of 2022,WPA 1849 of 2022,WPA 2038 of 2022,WPA 2039 of 2022,WPA 2413 of 2022,WPA 2474 of 2022,WPA 2475 of 2022,WPA 2476 of 2022,WPA 2477 of 2022,WPA 2478 of 2022,WPA 2479 of 2022,WPA 2481 of 2022,WPA 2482 of 2022,WPA 2483 of 2022,WPA 2484 of 2022,WPA 2543 of 2022,WPA 2568 of 2022,WPA 2569 of 2022,WPA 2611 of 2022,WPA 2621 of 2022,WPA 2648 of 2022,WPA 2655 of 2022,WPA 2871 of 2022,WPA 2872 of 2022,WPA 2874 of 2022, are disposed of by directing the respondents/authorities concerned to pay to the petitioners interest on gratuity and arrear pension in question with interest at the rate of 8 % p.a. to be calculated from the date when the aforesaid arrears in question became due till the date of such disbursement, within two months.
With the observation and direction made above all these writ petitions are disposed of.
