And In the matter of: Pradip Roy .... petitioner Ms. Supriya Debnath ... for the petitioners Mr. Ujjwal Luksom Ms. Namrata Das ... for the State
1. The application for anticipatory bail is canvassed on the ground that the petitioner is not named in the FIR. The investigation is still on. Police have reliably learnt that the petitioner was regularly involved smuggling of cows and other items out of India. It is further submitted that the BSFs have shot down two foreigners in course of the incident.
2. It appears from the records that an earlier application for anticipatory bail being CRM(A) 407 of 2024 was dismissed as not pressed.
3. Having regard to the statements made under Section 161 of the Cr. P.C. in the C.D. and having perused the materials in the C.D., this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. CRM(A) 508 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.
5. Let the Case Diary be returned.
