m The petitioner prays for a writ of mandamus directing the respondent authorities, which include both the State and the Union of India to make sincere and immediate efforts to bring back the husband of the petitioner, who is detained in a jail in Nepal.

It is alleged on behalf of the petitioner that the husband of the petitioner has been detained in a false case of narcotics. Accordingly, the respondents be directed to negotiate with the Government of Nepal to bring back the husband of the petitioner to India.

It is submitted on behalf of the State of West Bengal that in respect of the complaint filed by the petitioner, investigation has been

completed and a copy of the report has been duly served on the petitioner.

On behalf of the Union of India, it is submitted that the writ petition as framed is misconceived and not maintainable.

After a protracted hearing, the Advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner seeks liberty to withdraw the petition.

In view of the above, MAT/49/2025 stands dismissed as withdrawn.

The connected interlocutory application being CAN/1/2025 also stands dismissed as infructuous.
