CRM (M) 161 of 2025 In Re : An application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Kotwali Police Station Case No. 808 of 2024 dated 06.08.2024 under Section 137(2)/140(3)/49 B.N.S. and Section 6 of the POCSO Act, 2012 pending before the Ld. Atikur Jaman @ Atikuj Jaman @ Atik ... Petitioner Ms. Sunayana Parveen ...for the Petitioner Mr. Aditi Sankar Chakraborty, Mr. Abhijeet Sarkar, Mr. Sagnik Sankar Sikdar ...for the State The statement of the victim girl recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, indicates the involvement of the petitioner as the main accused. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that there is no likelihood of the trial concluding in the near future. Accordingly, it is urged that the petitioner be released on bail.

It appears that the petitioner has been in custody for approximately 370 days. At this stage, I am not inclined to

grant bail to the petitioner. The trial is directed to be conducted as expeditiously as possible.

Accordingly, CRM (M) 161 of 2025 is rejected. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
