1. Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and State respondents.

2. Grievance of the petitioner is against the police authority since in connection with Siliguri Women Police Station Case No. 106/2024 dated 8th October, 2024 there was no progress in investigation and unnecessarily time was consumed.

3. However, the learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a report dated 21st July, 2025 prepared by Inspector-in-Charge, Siliguri Women Police Station, Siliguri Police Commissionerate and same is taken on record.

4. On perusal of the said report it appears that on completing investigation investigating officer submitted charge sheet in connection with aforesaid criminal

proceeding and the charge sheet number is 115/2024 dated 29th November, 2024. It is also disclosed that as per said charge sheet Nityananda Barman @ Nitai Barman was principal accused and who was absconding. Subsequently, said principal accused surrendered before the Court on 11th June, 2025 and was taken into custody.

5. In view of aforesaid developments in connection with the criminal proceeding it appears that grievance of the petitioner stands redressed.

6. No further order need be passed on this writ petition.

7. Writ petition stands disposed of.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertaking. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
