The petitioner has been suspended in contemplation of a disciplinary proceeding initiated against him for alleged demands of illegal gratification. The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher in Political Science Department of Siliguri College under the University of North Bengal.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that false allegations have been levelled against him and he has been illegally suspended from service. The University submits that the enquiry is complete and disciplinary proceeding shall be completed within a short period of time.

I do not see any justification to keep this writ petition pending.

This writ petition is disposed of with the direction upon the Disciplinary Authority to complete the disciplinary proceeding within a period of three months from date in accordance with law and upon due compliance of principle of natural justice.

W.P.A. 2237 of 2022 is accordingly disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all the formalities.
