Petitioner is in custody for 102 days. He submits there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. He prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show deceased had left in a scooty from her residence. Subsequently, her dead body was recovered. There was dispute between petitioner and deceased with regard to the said scooty which was subsequently recovered from the possession of the petitioner. Materials on record show prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the crime. Call detail records collected in course of investigation also corroborate

such allegation. There were telephonic conversations between the petitioner and the deceased a day prior to the incident. Keeping in mind the aforesaid incriminating materials on record and the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
