1. The instant writ petition has been filed, inter alia, praying for a direction upon the respondents to disclose as to whether any case has been initiated in connection with the vehicle bearing registration No. WB79B5215.

According to the petitioner, the petitioner is owner of the aforesaid vehicle. The same has, however, been taken custody of by the respondent No. 5. Despite the petitioner enquiring from respondent No.

5, the respondent No. 5 has failed to disclose any particulars of any case in respect of the aforesaid vehicle. Hence, the petitioner has been compelled to approach this Court.

2. Mr.

Sarkar, learned advocate enters appearance on behalf of the State and would submit that that the vehicle in question was lying in abandoned and unlocked condition beside the river Mahananda. Upon receiving information, the respondent No. 5 recovered the vehicle and accordingly a case has been initiated being Siliguir P.S. GDE No. 124 and 125 dated 6th May, 2025.

3. Having regard to the above and noting that the particulars of all proceedings have now been made over to the petitioner, I am of the view, nothing survives in the writ petition.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of.

5. There shall be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent certified photo copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
