On reading of the prayers from the writ petition, it appears to this Court that, the solitary prayer of the petitioner is prayer (b) to the writ petition and the rest are consequential.

Learned State counsel has submitted a report with a forwarding letter dated August 20, 2025 issued by the Commissioner of Police, Siliguri Police Commissionerate, the same is taken on record. The report shows that, the Police authority has registered the police case bearing Matigara

P.S. Case No. 516 of 2025 dated August 11, 2025, inter alia, under Sections 308(2)/351(2)/3(5) of BNS.

In view of the above, nothing further survives in this writ petition. The jurisdictional Police authority shall take all necessary and consequential steps in accordance with law to proceed with the said Police Case so that the same comes to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible.

Since affidavits are not called for, the allegations made in this writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents. With the above observations and directions this writ petition W.P.A. 1740 of 2025 stands disposed of, without any order as to costs. Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished expeditiously.
