The application made by the petitioner seeking permission for performing Durga Puja is pending consideration at the end of the Block Development Officer, the Sub Divisional Officer, the District Magistrate and also before the Superintendent of Police. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that permission has already been granted in their favour by the Fire Department and the Electric Supply Department.

Without going into the merits of the prayer of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Block Development Officer to consider the prayer of the petitioner for grant of permission for performing Durga Puja in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations at the earliest but positively by 30th September, 2024.

If the petitioner abides by the terms and conditions required for performing the puja, then the authority shall consider the prayer for granting permission for holding the puja.

If the prayer is rejected, the ground for rejection will be intimated to the petitioner.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of usual legal formalities.
