The railways authorities are represented by Mr. Majumdar, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India. Mr. Majumdar submits that some time be given to him to take instruction.

It appears from the record that the petitioner has submitted a representation before the Member Secretary, North-East Frontier Railways praying for award of compensation arising out of unnatural and untimely death of her husband in a railway accident that took place on July 4, 2019 and an unnatural

death case being UD Case No. 20/19 dated July 4, 2019 was registered.

Without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the representation dated April 29, 2025, the writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Inspector-in-Charge, Siliguri Town Government Railway Police, Siliguri, being the 7th respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner and to communicate the decision to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible, but positively within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order along with the copy of the representation dated April 29, 2025. In the event the said authority is not competent to take a decision on the issue raised in the representation, such decision shall have to be communicated to the petitioner within the time limit mentioned hereinbefore.
