In this writ petition the petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the respondent authorities to give appointment to the petitioner in the post of ICTC Councilor. The petitioner claims to belong to Scheduled Caste category. He further claims that in spite of the fact that he was successful in the selection process, the authorities did not appoint the petitioner in the post of ICTC Councilor. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent authorities submits that there was only one vacancy under the Scheduled Caste category for

the post of ICTC Councilor and the petitioner was placed in the third position under the Scheduled Caste category.

Since there was only one vacancy under the Scheduled Cast category for the post of ICTC Councilor and the rank of the petitioner was third under the said category, the petitioner could not lay any claim for appointment to the post of ICTC Councilor.

The writ petition is devoid of any merit.

That apart, this is a selection process of the year 2016 and the writ petition has been filed only in the year 2025.

In view of the unexplained delay, this court is also not inclined to grant any relief to the writ petitioner.

For all the reasons as aforesaid, the writ petition stands dismissed.
