1. The allegation is of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm. The petitioner says that there are several accused persons. He was not present at the place of occurrence. He has been falsely implicated. He prays for anticipatory bail.

2. Learned state counsel draws our attention to the material in the case diary. We have seen the statement of at least 6 witnesses recorded under Section 161 Cr.P.C. Each of the witnesses has named this petitioner as one of the assailants.

3. We have also seen the medical report. The victim suffered grievous injury as per the medical report.

4. On an overall assessment of the material on record and the nature and gravity of the alleged offence as also the possible extent of complicity of the petitioner in the alleged offence, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for anticipatory bail.

5. CRM (A) 809 of 2024 is dismissed.
