These two applications for anticipatory bail and bail were rejected by a co-ordinate Bench on January 29, 2025. However, the Bench directed the Commissioner of Police to constitute a Special Investigation Team to be presided over by himself and comprising of specialized officers in tracking and analyzing electronic evidence. The Commissioner of Police was directed to submit reports before this Court on a fortnightly basis with regard to the progress of investigation.

Today, learned APP tells me that investigation is complete and chargesheet has been submitted.

Therefore, fortnightly report need not be filed by the Commissioner of Police any more.

I see logic in the submission made by learned APP. Since final report has been filed upon completion of investigation, the Commissioner of Police need not file fortnightly reports any further as he was directed to do earlier.
