For the State The petitioner seeks bail primarily on the ground of his incarceration for more than 6 years.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite a direction of this Court to conclude trial within one year from the next date fixed by invoking Section 309 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, trial is still in progress. Learned counsel for the State submits that 20 out of 27 witnesses have been examined. Trial shall be concluded within six months from the next date fixed before the learned

trial Court subject to cooperation of the petitioner and other systemic reasons.

Considering the material on record, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and take the same to its logical conclusion in the light of the submission made on behalf of the State. In the event the trial is not concluded within the time frame submitted on behalf of the State, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.

CRM (M) 335 of 2025 is disposed of.
