(NDPS) 484 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Ghoksadanga Police Station Case No. 197 of 2025 dated 12.04.2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Mr. Aditi Shankar Chakraborty Mr. Aniruddha Biswas ... For the State The petitioner is in custody for more than 300 days and prays for bail on the ground of his mother's illness and also since grounds of arrest were not communicated to him in the language understood by him.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

It appears that the grounds of arrest have been communicated to the petitioner in English which has been received by the petitioner by putting his signature thereon in

the same language. Contraband substance of commercial quantity has been recovered from the petitioner. In view of statutory restriction under Section 37 of the NDPS Act the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. CRM (NDPS) 484 of 2025 is disposed of.
