Case No. 458/2024 dated 04.08.2024 under Sections 103(1)/61(2) of the B.N.S., 2023.

And In the matter of: Munni Khatun ....Petitioner Mr. Sudip Guha, Mr. Sandip Guha Roy, Mr. Ananda Paul ...for the petitioner Mr. Adidi Shankar Chakraborty, Mr. Kallol Nag ...for the State Ms. Supriya Singh ...for the de facto complainant The petitioner prays for grant of bail on the ground that she has been in custody for 116 days. The petitioner submits that the entire prosecution is based on circumstantial evidence. The de facto complainant is present before the Court and opposes the prayer on the ground that it was premeditated murder.

Learned Advocate for the State has produced the case diary and opposes the prayer for bail.

We have gone through the contents of the case diary. We have gone through the post mortem report. We have gone through the statements of the witnesses and mode and manner in which the alleged offence was committed.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this state. The prayer for bail is rejected. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.) (Shampa Sarkar, J.)
