The petitioner is alleging that though the Joint Commissioner of Stamp Revenue, Government of West Bengal has recommended temporary appointment of the petitioner as 'Muhammedan Marriage Registrar & Kazi' in respect of the area under Pundi Bari Police Station but the said recommendation neither has been implemented, nor his representation to the said effect has been disposed of by the Additional Secretary, Law Department, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.2 herein.

Mr. Rahaman, learned advocate for the State respondents submits that the Principal Secretary, Law Department, Government of West Bengal is the competent

authority to consider the prayer of the petitioner, not the respondent no.2.

In view of the aforesaid, leave is granted to the petitioner to submit a formal representation praying such appointment to the said Principal Secretary, within a period of seven days from date, and if such representation is made, the said Authority shall consider the same in accordance with law, expeditiously.

WPA 2563 of 2024 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to be admitted.
