Petitioner is in custody for two years and seven months. He submits there is slow progress in trial. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

Nobody appears for the victim.

We have considered the materials on record. Victim is a five-year-old girl. She stated petitioner has inserted his finger into her private parts. He had also sexually intercourse with her. Her deposition is corroborated by other evidence. 5.

In view of the gravity of the offence and as trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
