The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India by the draft of the notification dated June 04, 2020 issued under sub-section (1) read with clause (v) and clause (xiv) of sub-section (2) and subsection (3) of Section 3 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986 has notified an area to an extent varying from 2.50 Kilometers to 5.00 kilometers around the boundary of Gorumara National Park, District- Jalpaiguri as the 'Ecosensitive Zone'. The petitioner has challenged the said draft notification.

The concerned Authority, by the aforesaid draft notification has only invited objections or suggestions from any persons interested on the proposals contained in the said draft notification, challenge to it therefore is pre-matured, W.P.A. 2830 of 2023 is dismissed as such without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
