The Court : It is submitted by Ms. Deborupa Mukherjee, learned Advocate that she has been instructed by the petitioner to appear in the matter and make submissions. She further submits that the petitioner is not interested to proceed any more with the contempt application. A written instruction received by the said Ms. Deborupa Mukherjee from the petitioner dated 26th August, 2021 is made over to Court which is taken on record. The said learned Advocate is granted leave to file the Vakalatnama in the department by 27th August, 2021.

On behalf of the alleged contemnors it is submitted that the order dated 12th December, 2000 passed in T No.1862 of 2000 (Gopal Prasad Shaw Vs. State of West Bengal & Anr.) being the subject matter of the

contempt petition had been duly complied with. It is further submitted by the alleged contemnors that the electric supply of the petitioner was restored on 13th February, 2001 through a static meter bearing no.2948623 (K). The petitioner was required to deposit a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- within seven days from the date of reconnection. The petitioner had deposited only Rs.50,000/-.

Since the petitioner does not want to proceed with the contempt petition and does not dispute the restoration of electricity as submitted by the alleged contemnors, there is no requirement to keep the contempt proceedings pending any further. The contempt proceedings are dropped. The contempt petition alongwith the connected application is disposed of without any further order.

Rule, if any, stands discharged.
