The Court: This is an application seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator under Section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996. It is fairly submitted by both parties that this application was filed within the prescribed time period and the Arbitrator has for unavoidable reasons been unable to conclude the proceedings. The parties do not object to extending the mandate of the Arbitrator.

I have considered the averments made in the application and I am satisfied that there are sufficient grounds and good cause as to why the Arbitrator could not conclude the arbitration proceeding within the prescribed time period. In such circumstances, there shall be an order in terms of prayer (a) of the Notice of Motion.
