The Court: This is the third application for extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator. The first two extensions were of 21st June, 2023 and 19th September, 2023. The mandate has expired on 16th January, 2024. The Arbitrator recognised this and sent a mail to the parties on 8th January, 2024 requesting them to apply to the Court for further extension. The reason given is that the Tribunal will not be in a position to pass the Award within the extended period of time, i.e., 15/17th January, 2024. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent does not oppose the extension of the mandate.

The Court is also informed that the parties completed their arguments on 24th November, 2023 and the Award is now awaited.

AP-COM/44/2024 is accordingly allowed and disposed of by extending the mandate for 3 months from 16th January, 2024. The Court refrains from using the word "hopefully" with reference to the Arbitrator's mail as sent to the parties.
