...for the respondents The Court: This is an application for extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator.

It is submitted on behalf of both the parties that for unavoidable reasons, the Sole Arbitrator was unable to conclude the arbitration proceedings. In such circumstances, the time to publish the award be extended. It is further submitted on behalf of the parties that the second witness of the respondents is being examined and the arbitration proceedings are at an advance stage.

Having considered the facts and circumstances, I am satisfied that sufficient cause and cogent reasons exist for not being able to conclude the arbitration proceedings within the stipulated time period. Accordingly, there shall be an order in terms of prayer (a) of the Notice of Motion.

The time to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the award is extended peremptorily by a period of six months from date. With the aforesaid directions, AP/44/2024 stands disposed of. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.) bp/R.Bhar
