The instant writ petition has been filed inter alia praying for a direction upon the respondents to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner under section 246A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), on 21st April 2015 from an order passed under section 144 of the said Act, dated 14th March 2015 in respect of the assessment year 2012-13.

2. Learned advocate representing the respondents, however, by drawing attention of this Court to page 81 of the writ petition would submit that it is only on 21st September 2024 that the petitioner had complied with the requisition issued by the respondents. Accordingly steps have already taken to dispose of the appeal expeditiously.

3. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the parties, I am of the view that the appeal filed by the petitioner on 21st April 2015 under section 246A of the said Act from an order passed under section 144 of the said Act dated 14th March 2015 in respect of the assessment year 2012-13 should be disposed of as expeditiously as possible, not later than four months from the date of communication of this order.

4. Parties are directed to communicate this order to the respondent no.4.
