This is an application under Section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that for reasons beyond their control, the arbitration proceedings could not be concluded. It is further submitted on behalf of the petitioner that despite taking repeated adjournments, the respondent has failed to comply with the directions of the Arbitral Tribunal. The last sitting of the Arbitral Tribunal was held on 11 October, 2023.

I have considered the averments made in the application and am satisfied that there is sufficient cause and good reason as to why the arbitral proceedings could not be concluded within the fixed time period.

In view of the fact that the hearing has been concluded and only the award is to be published, the time to make and publish the award is extended by a period of two months from date.
