The Court : We have heard the learned Counsel for the parties. In terms of the direction issued by order dated 19th February, 2025, it is submitted by the learned Counsel appearing for the applicant that the seized gold bars have been returned in terms of the provisional release order passed, subject to fulfillment of the conditions contained therein. Therefore, nothing further survives for adjudication in the contempt application. It is submitted by the learned standing Counsel appearing for the respondent that by the order dated 20th May, 2025, the authorities were restrained from adjudicating the show cause notice until further orders.
In the light of the fact that the direction issued has been complied with, the order dated 20th May, 2025 is modified to the extent by directing the authorities to proceed with the adjudication of the show cause notice. Needless to state that the applicant shall cooperate in the expeditious disposal for adjudication of the show cause notice.
The applicant is directed to file their reply to the show cause notice within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order, after which the adjudication proceeding shall commence and be concluded at the earliest.
CC 58 of 2025 is disposed of.
