The Court:-The petitioners are aggrieved by the property tax bill raised in their favour by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. An objection was filed immediately upon receipt of the property tax bill in June, 2022 with a reminder in November, 2022. The same are yet to be considered and disposed of.

As it appears that the objection filed by the petitioners are pending consideration at the end of the respondent authority, accordingly, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending. The writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4 being the Assessor Collector [North], Kolkata Municipal Corporation to take a decision with regard to the objection filed by the petitioners in accordance with law, after giving a reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the

necessary parties at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties immediately thereafter.

It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners and all points are left open to be decided by the aforesaid respondent at the time of consideration of the representation of the petitioners.

Learned advocate for the petitioners is directed to forward a copy of the property tax bill, objection dated 21.06.2022 and all other supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
