This appeal is against an order dated 22nd March 2024 making imposition of costs of Rs.25,000/- on the defendant no.1 who was asking for adjournment to disclose some further documents. The suit was directed to appear for further trial on 18th April 2024. Let the suit appear in the list of learned trial judge as directed on 18th April 2024.

Learned counsel for the first defendant assures this court that no further adjournment would be prayed for, except under the most extra-ordinary circumstances. Even if any adjournment is prayed for,

unless the circumstances are most extra-ordinary, the learned single judge shall not grant any adjournment and continue to try and hear the suit until it is concluded.

Subject to the above condition, the costs imposed are reduced to Rs.3,400/- to be paid to the State Legal Services Auhority. The appeal (APOT 128 of 2024) and the connected application (IA No: GA 1 of 2024) are accordingly disposed of. (I. P. MUKERJI, J.) (MD. SHABBAR RASHIDI, J.) R. Bose
