The Court: This is an application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. It is submitted on behalf of the petitoner that the mandate of the Arbitrator is due to expire on 29 May, 2024. It is further submitted by the petitioner that the matter is at an advance stage and the proceedings would be concluded positively within six months. The respondent is represented and does not oppose the prayer for extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

I have considered the averments in the application and I am satisfied that there are cogent and sufficient grounds as to why the Learned Arbitrator was unable to conclude the proceedings within the stipulated time period. In such

circumstances, as a last chance, the time to conclude the arbitral proceeding and publish the award is extended peremptorily by a period of six months from the date of passing of this order.

Accordingly, AP-COM/512/2024 stands disposed of. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.) SK.
