This is an application under Section 36(2) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The petitioner prays for stay of enforcement of award dated January 20, 2025, upon furnishing security. Such prayer is allowed. The petitioner is directed to deposit a sum of Rs. 7.50 crores with the learned Registrar, Original Side, within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

There shall be unconditional stay of the award for a period of eight weeks and upon compliance of the direction to deposit, the stay shall continue till disposal of the application under Section 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. In default, the stay shall automatically stand vacated without further reference to Court and the award-holder shall be

at liberty to enforce the award. The money will be deposited by demand draft and the learned Registrar, Original Side shall invest same in an auto renewable interest bearing fixed deposit with any nationalize bank. (SHAMPA SARKAR, J.) S. Kumar/R. D. Barua
