The Court : It is submitted by learned counsel for the licensee that although the application of the writ petitioner for fresh electricity connection was received, but the same was kept pending since a prima facie view was taken with regard to existence of a nexus between the writ petitioner and the erstwhile consumer at the same place where the electricity connection was sought.

It is further submitted by counsel for the licensee that after conduct of a detailed enquiry no clear nexus was found between the petitioner and the erstwhile consumer.

In those circumstances, counsel for CESC submits that his client is willing to proceed further with application for electricity connection. Considering the above submissions, this Court directs CESC to process the petitioner's application and grant electricity connection after compliance with all formalities including payment. It is directed that payment and other formalities must be completed by the writ petitioner within a period of seven days from date and the electricity connection shall be granted by the licensee within a period of one month from date.

With the aforesaid directions, W.P. No.262 of 2019 stands disposed of.
