The Court : The grievance of the writ petitioner is that, despite there being a request on the part of the District Land and Land Reforms Officer at Malda, no police assistance was given to the petitioner for the purpose of pisciculture in respect of the concerned water body.

However, such allegation is refuted by learned Counsel for the respondent who, on instruction, submits that previously police assistance and deployment of police force was provided for, to ensure that the petitioner can carry on with as pisciculture at the locale. However, it is argued that the petitioner did not provide any further particulars as to the date and time when the petitioner shall visit the said water body for the purpose of collecting fish.

It appears, upon hearing both sides, that no further direction is necessary in the matter by this Court.

WPO 364 of 2020 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 9 to provide police assistance to the petitioner as and when the petitioner intimates that he will go to the concerned water body for the purpose of pisciculture. There will be no order as to costs.
