1. The Court: - Mr. Partha Ghosh, learned Advocate appears for the petitioner.

2. Mr. Shiv Shankar Banerjee, learned Advocate through virtual mode appears for ECL.

3. Pursuant to the order dated June 24, 2025 the petitioner files a supplementary affidavit affirmed on July 08, 2025, the same is taken on record.

4. Learned Counsel for the Coal Company has also submitted a copy of the joint minute dated July 04, 2025, the same is also taken on record.

5. The parties jointly submit that the petitioner has vacated the quarter and delivered possession to the Coal Company and the relevant Coal Company has taken possession of the quarter.

6. In view of the above, it is submitted on behalf of the Coal Company if three weeks time is granted the entire unpaid gratuity payable to the petitioner in accordance with law shall be paid to the petitioner.

7. On the basis of the aforesaid submission made on behalf of the ECL the appropriate authority of ECL shall pay the gratuity and the benefit under Life Cover Scheme positively within a period of four weeks from date.

8. Nothing further survives in this writ petition.

9. On the prayer of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner shall be at liberty to claim interest, if any, payable to the petitioner on delayed payment in accordance with law, when it shall also be taken into consideration that the official quarter was withheld by the petitioner after retirement.

10. Accordingly, this writ petition WPO/283/2025 stands disposed of without any order as to costs.
