...for the petitioner The Court: The petitioner has preferred the present application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the arbitral award. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that this Court vide order dated 03.09.2024 appointed a sole arbitrator to adjudicate the disputes between the parties. Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the respondent nos. 2 to 4 had entered appearance before the Arbitral Tribunal on 21st December, 2024 and submitted that insolvency proceedings are pending and had sought time to file necessary documents in that regard. However, no such application was filed and the Arbitral Tribunal had proceeded with the matter. The final argument had been heard on 27th August, 2025 and the matter has been reserved for publication of the award. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal expired on 20th December, 2025.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner states that the Arbitral Tribunal has already conducted more than seven hearings and the matter is listed only for publication of the award.

Upon consideration of the materials placed on record and the arguments advanced by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is satisfied that no delay is attributable to the learned sole arbitrator in concluding the proceedings.

Having regard to the advanced stage of the arbitral proceedings and in the interest of justice, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is further extended for a period of two months to enable the learned Arbitrator to publish the award.

The learned sole arbitrator is requested to make all reasonable endeavours to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish the arbitral award within the extended time period.

With the aforesaid observations, the present application stands disposed of.
