The Court: The application has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996.

This is an application seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings. It is submitted on behalf of both parties that this is the first extension sought for by the parties.

In view of the voluminous documentary evidence and the fact that arguments have been concluded, the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings stands extended by six months from date.

There are sufficient and cogent grounds as to why the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal should be extended.
