The Court :- None appears on behalf of the respondent, despite service. Affidavit of service filed in court is taken on record. This is an application for extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator.

This court has the jurisdiction to entertain this application. The minutes of the meeting held before the learned Arbitrator reflect that the representative of the respondent, Mr. Balesh Kumar Shukla, appeared before the learned Arbitrator, lastly, on January 7, 2025. From the minutes dated 11.2.2025 and 17.2.2025, it appears that the learned Arbitrator recorded the absence of the representative of the respondent. Under such circumstances, this court is of the view that the mandate of the learned Arbitrator must be extended.

On the last two occasions, the respondent did not appear to make submission, although dates were fixed for argument on behalf of the

respondent. The learned Arbitrator also recorded that arguments stood closed and only the publication of the award was remaining. In view of the progress made, this court extends the mandate of the learned Arbitrator by a further period of six months from the date of communication of this order, within which time the learned Arbitrator shall make and publish the award.

This order shall be communicated to the respondent. The application, AP-COM/363/2025 is disposed of accordingly. (SHAMPA SARKAR, J.) pkd/R.D.Barua
