The Court: There appears to be a delay of about 16 months from the date of which the applicant was due to file her accounts under the provision of the Indian Succession Act, 1925. The certified copy of the grant was issued on 4th April, 2019.

The ground for the delay given is that the applicant is of advanced years and could not take requisite steps due to pandemic. Upon hearing learned Counsel, this Court is of the view that even on the date of filing of the present application, there was a substantial delay. The application is hence allowed and disposed of subject to the applicant putting in costs which are reasonably assessed at Rs.20,000/- to be paid to Bharat Sevasram Sangha within seven days.

The applicant is granted leave to file the accounts being Annexure-E to the application with the Department within seven days from payment of costs.
