The Court:-The petitioners seek certain directions upon the police. Learned advocate representing the private respondents raises an objection with regard to the maintainability of the writ petition in the Original Side. It has been submitted that the cause of action for filing the instant writ petition arose outside the Original Side jurisdiction of this Court.

In response to the said objection, learned advocate for the petitioners relies upon an unreported order dated 4th August, 2023 passed by a coordinate Bench of this Court in WPO No.3364 of 2022 (Amara Badyakar @ Angura Badyakar Vs. M/S. Eastern Coal Fields Limited & Ors.).

For keeping the records straight, the matter is directed to be converted and renumbered in the Appellate Side.

The writ petition in the Original Side shall be treated as disposed of.

The department is directed to renumber the matter and the same be listed on 26th June, 2024.
