The Court:- This is an application under Section 29 sub-Section (4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The prayer of the petitioner is for extending the mandate of the Arbitrator appointed on 6 August 2018. It is submitted by both the parties that for reasons beyond the control of the Arbitrator, the arbitration proceedings have not been concluded. It is further submitted that the arbitration proceedings are at an advanced stage and the examination of the 2nd witness of the respondent would soon commence.

By consent of the parties, the parties agree to extend the mandate of the Arbitrator for a period of six months only. It is made clear that no further extension would be granted for extension of the mandate of the Arbitrator and the Arbitrator must conclude the proceedings within the aforesaid six month period.

In view of the above, AP No. 375 of 2021 stands disposed of. (RAVI KRISHAN KAPUR, J.) D.Ghosh
