...for the State The Court: Let the appearance of Ms. Debjani Sengupta be regularized for this matter for the purpose of appearance on behalf of the State. An adjournment is sought at the outset by learned counsel for the State. From the affidavit of service it transpires that good service has been effected on the respondents.

In view of the innocuous nature of the prayer in the writ petition, the prayer for adjournment is refused.

The petitioner submits that the petitioner has preferred an application under Section 31 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 before the respondent no.2 authority against the classification of a plot of property. The petitioner seeks an early disposal of the same.

Accordingly, WPO 508 of 2024 is disposed of by directing respondent no.2, the Inspector General of Registration, Directorate of Registration and Stamp Revenue, Finance (Revenue) Department, Government of West Bengal to dispose of the application dated May 7, 2024 filed by the petitioner under Section 31 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 as expeditiously as possible, positively within June 30, 2024.

No order as to costs.
