The Court: Petitioner's father while working in the Calcutta Tramways Company (1978) Limited (in short, "CTC") now known as West Bengal Transport Corporation (in short, "WBTC") died on 8th November, 2006. Petitioner's mother initially made an application for granting appointment on compassionate ground to his physically challenged son being the petitioner herein. Subsequently, the petitioner also made a representation and/or application for granting appointment on compassionate ground to him. It appears that in response to such application, a Committee in terms of the applicable Scheme for granting compassionate appointment has been constituted after an order was passed by this Court on 13th January, 2020 in the petitioner's previous application in WP No.4 of 2020. Nothing further has

happened thereafter. The petitioner says that there has been inordinate delay on the part of the employer in considering the petitioner's application for appointment on compassionate ground which compelled the petitioner to approach this Court on an earlier occasion. Despite having obtained an order in the previous writ petition filed by the petitioner, the petitioner's case has not yet been disposed of.

In the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, I direct Calcutta Tramways Company (1978) Limited (in short, "CTC") now known as West Bengal Transport Corporation (in short, "WBTC") to constitute a fresh Committee replacing the Members of the previous Committee constituted in terms of the order appearing at page 21 of the writ petition who have either retired or are not available to take a decision on the petitioner's application for compassionate appointment and inform the same to the petitioner latest by 31st May, 2022. Nothing further remains to be adjudicated in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of, however, without any order as to cost.
