The Court : The writ petitioner is aggrieved by a revised bill raised by CESC Ltd. for a net sum of Rs.29,410/- dated 31st August, 2021.

The petitioner claims that he is using an office space having a total area of 93 sq.ft. The average amount of electricity bill from January, 2019 till November, 2019 is to the tune of Rs.350 to Rs.400/- per month. The electricity consumption pattern has also been indicated at page 17 of the writ petition. It is, therefore, submitted that the impugned bill is excessive and arbitrary.

Counsel for the CESC Ltd. submits that there is, in fact, a problem detected by the CESC in so far as the billing of the petitioner's consumption is concerned. It is further submitted that a revised bill shall be furnished to the petitioner in the month of October, 2021 and the petitioner does not have to either pay for this particular bill of Rs.29,410/- or worry about disconnection for non-payment of this particular bill. In the above circumstances, WPO/669/2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
