The Court : Copy of the order dated 31.05.2023 passed by the Special Municipal Commissioner (Revenue/G & D), Kolkata Municipal Corporation produced in Court today is taken on record.

It appears therefrom that an opportunity of hearing was granted to the petitioners and a fresh order has been passed wherein it has been mentioned that the Assessor-Collector (North) of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation should complete the exercise for re-calculation within two months from the date of passing of the order. In view of the aforesaid order of the Special Municipal Commissioner (Revenue/G & D), Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the Assessor-Collector (North) of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation is required to re-calculate the property tax dues to be paid by the petitioners.

Let re-calculation be made within the period as specified by the Special Municipal Commissioner (Revenue/G & D), Kolkata Municipal Corporation. A copy of the re-calculation be served upon the petitioners. The impugned calculations are, accordingly, set aside. The writ petition stands disposed of.
