1. The application for renewal of the passport of the petitioner has been kept on hold due to mismatch of his date of birth in his documents namely, his birth certificate, Aadhar Card, Voter Card, PAN Card, Admit Card of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the certificate issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

2. Date of birth recorded in the earlier passport of the petitioner is 24th June, 1990. The date of birth recorded in the birth certificate of the petitioner is 24th June, 1990 but his date of birth recorded in all other documents is different.

3. The passport officer has refused to renew the passport because of the mismatch in the date of birth.

4. At this stage, no direction can be passed upon the passport issuing authority for renewal of the passport of the petitioner. It will be open for the petitioner to take steps for rectification of his date of birth in his official records.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all legal formalities. (AMRITA SINHA, J.) nm
