...for the KMC The Court: It appears that in compliance with an order passed by the Municipal Assessment Tribunal dated November 23, 2020, in MAA No. 384 of 2018, Kolkata Municipal Corporation has reduced the annual valuation of the relevant property to Rs.26,030/- with effect from 2nd quarter of 2016-17 from the earlier annual valuation of Rs.38,900/- with effect from the same period.

The report filed by the Corporation today also suggests that after implementation of the order passed by the Municipal Assessment Tribunal, fresh bills have been generated for the 2nd quarter of 2016-17 to 4th quarter

of 2024-25 and the same has been adjusted with the amount lying in the suspense account amounting to Rs.76,472/-. The report further suggests that after the adjustment, Rs.2015/- is still lying in the suspense account of the petitioner, whereas fresh bills amounting to Rs.20,033/- is still lying in unpaid status.

Mr. Raghunath Chakraborty, learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has not received any bills as mentioned in the report. He prays for a direction upon the Corporation for the bills to be provided for the relevant period.

The report of the Corporation filed today does not disclose any supporting documents.

I am, however, not inclined to keep this writ petition pending. I direct the Corporation to provide all documents to the petitioner in support of the report that has been filed today within a period of seven days from date.

If the petitioner is aggrieved, he will be at liberty to take steps in accordance with law.

WPO/596/2024 is disposed of.
