The Court :- The writ petitioner is aggrieved by order dated 15th July, 2021 passed by the Banking Ombudsman rejecting the petitioner's claim against the Axis Bank Limited. The petitioner submits that he was not given an opportunity of hearing. It is now well settled that the proceedings under the Banking Ombudsman Scheme of 2006 are summary and conciliatory in nature. The decision of the Ombudsman is not justiciable. Even otherwise it has been specified in the impugned order that if the petitioner is not satisfied with the decision of the Ombudsman, he may approach any other legal forum or authority.

Since the petitioner continues to be aggrieved by the bank's conduct, he may take out appropriate proceedings - either statutory or civil, as he may be advised in accordance with law.

WPO/1988/2022 is disposed accordingly.

No order as to costs.
