The present application under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeks an extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator. It transpires that the second extension of the mandate was granted by a Co-ordinate Bench vide order dated January 10, 2024 passed in APCOM/30/2024 for a period of six months from February 7, 2024. The present application has been filed within such time. It transpires from the submissions of the parties that further time is required for the learned Arbitrator to conclude the arbitral proceeding in view of the nature of dispute involved and the volume of materials before the Arbitrator.

Hence, AP-COM/718/2024 is allowed, thereby extending the mandate of the learned Arbitrator for a further period of six months from August 7, 2024. (SABYASACHI BHATTACHARYYA, J.) S.Bag
