...for the respondent The Court: This is an application for extension of the Arbitrator's mandate under Section 29(4) of the 1996 Act. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent does not dispute the prayer for extension but disputes the ground taken for the same. Counsel says that the petitioner is largely responsible for the delay caused in the arbitration. Although, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator terminated on 2nd May, 2023, this Court takes into account the fact of the respondent not opposing the extension and that arguments in the arbitration will commence shortly.

AP/324/2023 is accordingly disposed of by extending the mandate of the Arbitrator for four months from today.
